Washed Activated
Carbon
CarbonMax manufactures coconut shell–based Washed Activated Carbon in standard and custom mesh sizes for drinking water, food processing, beverage, pharma, ultra-pure water, and high-purity industrial applications.

Low-ash carbon for purity-sensitive applications
Washed carbon is processed to reduce ash, soluble impurities, and selected inorganic residues. This improves product cleanliness, supports tighter pH control, and makes the carbon suitable for applications where extractables, metals, colour, taste, and process purity matter.
Where Washed Carbon Performs
CarbonMax Washed Activated Carbon supports:
- Drinking water treatment
- Food and beverage purification
- Breweries and distilleries
- Pharma and personal care processing
- Ultra-pure water systems
- RO and resin protection
- Low-ash filtration requirements
- High-purity industrial polishing
Why CarbonMax Washed Carbon
- 100% coconut shell feedstock for hard, high-density activated carbon
- Controlled washing to reduce ash, soluble matter, and selected inorganic impurities
- Application-specific treatment using acid-washed or water-washed processing routes
- Low-dust sizing for clean handling and stable filtration performance
- Batch-wise COA with agreed parameters for ash, pH, moisture, PSD, and activity
- Custom mesh options for OEM, EPC, distributor, and process-specific needs
Process Direction
CarbonMax washed grades are produced by treating finished activated carbon through controlled washing, neutralisation, dewatering, drying, demagnetisation, screening, and packing. The process is designed to improve carbon purity while maintaining adsorption performance, mechanical strength, and particle-size consistency. Final specifications are aligned to the application, operating environment, and customer approval protocol.
Key Quality Checks
- Ash & pH
- Moisture
- Particle size distribution (PSD)
- Iodine / CTC activity
- Water-soluble matter & acid-soluble ash
- Metals / extractables where required
- Conductivity / leachables for high-purity applications
