Personal Protection
Breathable Air Defense.
High-integrity activated carbon for respirator, personal protection, and breathable-air filtration systems.

CarbonMAX™ (Personal Protection)
High-integrity activated carbon for respirator, personal protection, and breathable-air filtration systems.
Carbonmax activated carbon supports personal protection filter media used in respirator cartridges, gas and odor control layers, protective filters and specialty PPE systems. Coconut shell based grades offer high microporosity, strong mechanical structure, low dust and consistent particle-size distribution. Impregnated or specialty-treated grades can be developed for defined gas and vapor challenges subject to customer specification and final product validation. *Important Note: Respirator carbon is only one component of a certified respiratory protection system. Final cartridge design, breakthrough testing, NIOSH/EN/CBRN certification, labelling and suitability for a hazardous atmosphere must be verified by the respirator or filter manufacturer. Carbonmax does not authorize safety claims without approved test evidence for the complete filter assembly.*

Process Applications

Industrial Respirator Cartridges
High-activity media for chemical, paint, solvent, and industrial process environment respirator canisters.

Escape & Defense Masks
Emergency evacuation filter media designed for short-duration gas protection, escape masks, and military defence.

Collective Protection
Layered filtration beds for NBC ventilation systems, shelter air, and collective protection environments.
What It Handles
- Volatile organic compounds and solvent vapours (Type A)
- Hydrogen sulphide and selected inorganic gases (Type B)
- Sulphur dioxide and acidic gases (Type E)
- Ammonia, amines and alkaline gases (Type K)
- Hydrogen cyanide and specific toxic gases
- Gas combinations under variable humidity conditions
Engineered to Deliver
- High microporosity and adsorption activity: Supports rapid adsorption of selected organic vapors and odor compounds in compact filter designs.
- Exceptional hardness and low dust: Helps maintain media integrity and reduces fine-particle release during filling and use.
- Controlled particle size distribution: Supports predictable pressure drop and consistent packed-bed behavior.
- Impregnation and specialty treatment options: Can be tailored for selected gas-phase challenges where customer specifications require treated carbon.
- Batch COA and traceability: Supports OEM quality systems and repeatable supply for filter media manufacturers.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Our carbon is a component supplied for filter media. The complete finished device must undergo testing and pass the relevant NIOSH, EN, or CBRN certification by the filter manufacturer.
We offer impregnated carbon for acid gases (SO2), inorganic gases (H2S, Cl2, HCN), ammonia/amines, and multi-gas (ABEK) protection.
Yes. Chromium-free impregnated options are available for military and civil defence systems where requested by customer policy.
We evaluate final filter geometry, target challenge gases, face velocity, humidity profiles, pressure drop limits, and breakthrough requirements.
