Waste Water & Effluent Treatment Application

AquaMAX™ (Effluent)

High-hardness activated carbon for COD/BOD reduction and organic contaminant polishing.

Carbonmax activated carbon supports effluent polishing by adsorbing dissolved organic contaminants that contribute to BOD and COD, toxic compounds, color bodies and dyes, aromatic compounds including phenol and bisphenol A, chlorinated or halogenated organics, BTEX VOCs, pesticides, surfactants and other dissolved organics. Controlled hardness, low dust and precision particle-size distribution help maintain lower pressure drop, reduce filter blockage risk and support longer operating life in industrial wastewater treatment systems.

Process Applications

Fixed-Bed Wastewater Adsorbers

Fixed-Bed Wastewater Adsorbers

Granular carbon beds polish industrial wastewater and secondary effluents, removing dissolved organics and safeguarding discharge compliance.

Guard / Polishing Columns

Guard / Polishing Columns

Installed as a polishing step after physical-chemical or biological treatment to capture recalcitrant organic contaminants.

What It Handles

  • Organic contaminants causing Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)
  • Toxic compounds
  • Color compounds and dyes
  • Aromatic compounds including phenol and bisphenol A
  • Chlorinated or halogenated organic compounds
  • VOCs such as Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene (BTEX)
  • Pesticides
  • Surfactants
  • Other dissolved organic compounds

Engineered to Deliver

  • System handling convenience: Cleaner handling, easier charging and smoother operation for plant teams using granular activated carbon in fixed-bed or polishing applications.
  • Exceptional hardness and robust resistance to attrition: Ensuring consistent performance and extended operating lifetime while averting filter blockage from fine carbon particles.
  • Enhanced flow characteristics: Experience lower pressure drops across the filter bed, maintaining operational efficiency through precision shape, size distribution and low dust content.
  • High purity: Prevention of chemical leaching into treated water.
  • Pre-washed, pH-adjusted carbon: Adhering to the pH specifications of treated water, ensuring quality and safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

Activated carbon is highly effective for a wide range of dissolved organics (BOD/COD, phenols, BTEX, pesticides, dyes), but selection and sizing depend on influent concentration and target limits.

Exceptional hardness prevents media attrition from backwashing and flow surges, keeping the filter bed free of fine particles that block flow and cause pressure spikes.

Yes. Pre-washed and pH-adjusted grades can be supplied to ensure treated water stays within target pH specifications.

Yes. Batch-wise COA is available with all commercial supply programs.
